My Story

Hello, and it's great to be a part of our friendly community.

My name is Aliona Postolachi, and I’m the founder of Papillon de l’Espoir (Butterfly of Hope). This mission is very close to my heart.

My story is not about adventure, or about a miracle, not about success either. It is a story about how to stop looking around oneself, learn to smile and mark the people who love you.

Despite receiving breast cancer treatment, my life turned upside down. And as hard as it was for me, I realized that support is not just about doctor appointments, tests and treatment plans.

I decided to not be in a battle with illness. I'm educating myself to live and enjoy life. For both today and in the future.

I created Papillon de l’Espoir to provide non-medical assistance through gentle, uplifting events and activities. In these spaces, people can breathe deeply, reconnect with themselves, and feel surrounded by warmth, creativity, and community.

People who are currently living with cancer, those who have experienced it, and the loved ones who support them are the focus of our organization. No one should have to face a difficult chapter alone.

When someone walks through our doors, our hope is simple: that they can set down the weight they’re carrying—even for a moment—and leave feeling a little more supported, a little more understood, and a little more hopeful.

We are not here to define anyone by a diagnosis. We are here to create time and space to learn, share, breathe, and enjoy life—for today, and for the days ahead.
